Denzel & Febe

Fe is one of my oldest friends. We met in 1995 & have been through a whole lot of 'life' together! She is the polar opposite to me - she can hold a note, she never loses her cool in mixed netball (except that one time she punched a guy 3 times her size - but he deserved it!), has always been tidy (and tidied my room while i nursed a hangover on more than one occassion), says exactly what she thinks - always, has fabulous hair like EVERY day, is extremely organised, can find decorations no matter what the occassion, manages to stay her amazing bubbly self no matter what may be hapenning around her & is the single most real person i know. She's as close to a sister as i'll ever have & am so thankful she's still in my life. Fe and her baby paid me a visit & we took the opportunity to get some snaps for the chrissie card this year :) Denzel is sweeter than you can imagine!

I often ask clients to do kissy noises to get a big sloppy kiss . . . . . . .
And sometimes it goes a little too far :p

too too too cuteeee

My favouriteeee :)

Thanks my Pebe & Denzel - you are lovely xxx

What a month!

October has been a teeny bit crazy to say the least! I finally got my studio equipment and have been torturing Alfie & Jersey for hours on end trying to get my lighting perfect!!

We had the Dog's Breakfast finally arrive and it was a huge success - had such a good day meeting new puppy dogs that i hope will one day be making their debut on here! Unfortunately it was a little too hectic to have my camera in my hand as much as i planned too but i did get some shots of the most well mannered dog i ever did meet - Denzel was dressed for the occassion :)

Don't want to scare anyone but Christmas is now just a little over 7 weeks away - remember gift certificates are always available :)

Bella & Broxi

As i drove from my house towards the ocean for our Marina shoot i looked at the grey sky and realised that my day had come!! For the first time since i bought my camera and started shooting i had FINALLY been given a big sky full of cloud (aka: a big, free, perfect softbox which practically eliminates harsh shadows!) right at the time of my shoot. I got down to the boardwalk a little early so i could do some scouting :) Spotted a few good spots and THEN I SAW IT! A big vacant block (probably worth MILLIONS being right on the jetty) with proper green, overgrown grass . . .i could picture it already. And i must say they came out even better the imaginary ones in my head!

I absolutely LOVED getting to know Broxi & Bella. They are even cuter than they look in the pictures if you can believe it! Bella is just 18 months old and amazingly similar to our ever so slightly excitable Jersey, except she's a little less vocal and about 1/3 of the size - the sweetest little girl! Broxi "The Man" is a proud young man. An adolescent at 4 years old he does the cutest little begging thing when mum tries to bribe him into position with food - i plan to capture this cuteness, in action, when they come in for their studio shoot :)

Bella, hands down, has the most naturally sparkly eyes i've ever seen!!

Bella & Broxi's mum has the most FANTASTIC idea for Bella's studio shoot too so look out for more from them in the not too distant future.

Bonnie, Shearer & Roxy

An absolutely B-E-A utiful morning greeted us at my local park for an early shoot with three equally as lovely dogs. I love this time of year when the mornings are nice enough to coax me out of bed without too much persuasion . . especially when i have a doggy date to match :) Bonnie, at 13 years acted much more like a 13 month old as she bounded and dragged her mum and dad around the park . . she has one of those smiley faces :)

Shearer is very similar to our own Kelpie Cross . . i may have a soft spot for him . .

Roxy came along too but as her mum couldn't make it and with 2 other dogs there that she REALLY wanted to play with, we didn't end up with too many succesful shots of her . . there is one though that i absolutely LOVE!

You'll be seeing some more of these happy puppies in a sample album soon :D

Scottish Spring Shoot

Luckily the rain stayed away on Wednesday morning for my shoot with some Scottish folk on the first day of spring :) A few clouds lurked which gave me some stunning light to work with - or perhaps it was the subjects that were stunning?? Hard to tell . . . .
Leigh is the human appearing with her baby brother and sister, Tablet & Fia. Tablet's still a baby at 7 months and 'lil Fia's only just coming up to 2 months . . . i do love a puppy or two. They are both Scottish Terriers, as are their humans - well Scottish anyway without the terrier part.
Ok - that's probably a few more pics than normal but i just can't seem to stop!

just one more - Tablet & Fia's mum didn't want to appear in the photos but i absolutely LOVE this last one . .

Sorry Deb, but you might just be appearing on some future marketing material ;)

A playdate with Keiko

A family friend got a puppy. This is always exciting. Even more so, however when it looks like a teeny tiny teddy bear/polar bear with the softest fur you've ever felt and the sweeeetest little face you've ever seen. I'm VERY glad i convinced her mum that she needed a photo shoot! I wasn't sure if i was going to be able to put her down to take photos of her but somehow i managed it after a whole lot of cuddling and awwing. Keiko is 10 weeks old and she was quick! We did almost have a "white dog sitting in brown poo" situation at one point but luckily Keiko managed to somehow avoid it!

Two Little Ladies

They say working with children & animals are the two most trying situations a person can find themselves in. I have had plenty of experience around animals and have always found them to be much more co-operative and fun to be around than most people i know :) Apart from my little brother who was born when i was 14, i haven't really had any mentionable experience of 'working' with children. What i do know is that, unlike my dogs, that i can tap on the nose and shout at when they don't do what they're told - i probably shouldn't take that approach when working with children - especially when my job is get beautiful pictures of them!
For my very first shoot working with children i had the pleasure of meeting Sienna & Kailee (with Mummy Sharee of course) at a lovely park with some play equipment and big green lawns for some bubble blowing. I decided that i would be completely at their mercy. I would go where they wanted, do what they wanted and hopefully get some smiley natural photos as we played. Even with Sienna battling tonsillitis at the time, and baby Kailee getting a face full of bubbles half way through our shoot - i believe Mummy Sharee will be ecstatic with what we got :) Just a few of my favourites so far . . .
